OWC announced new memory upgrades for 2010 and 2011 iMacs. iMacs with 4 memory slots can now upgrade to 32 GB, and select 21.5-inch iMacs with two slots can now upgrade to 16 GB. The lower-end iMacs with only two slots may be particularly keen on this upgrade as 8 GB can be a bit limiting on higher-end computing tasks.
The DDR3 1333 MHz 8 GB modules double the iMac's official maximum memory capacity from 16 GB (4x4) up to 32 GB (4x8). The 32 GB kit will run you $359. A 16 GB kit of two 8 GB modules now run $180.
OWC also announced latest pricing on lesser upgrades in 4 module kits. 24 GB run you $234, 16 GB for $107, and 8GB for $55. While the 32 GB kit is unavailable from Apple, the other options are available as build-to-order options, but OWC offers savings up for 40-percent on a pretty simple user-install.
