Take it on the go; it's the easiest and most straight-forward approach to connecting an XLR microphone or mixer to your iPod, iPad, iPhone, Android, Macbook or any other compatible device. Simply open up Garage Band, or any of the myriad of apps designed for audio recording, and get to work! Record high-quality audio through your favorite music-recording app or program. Capture audio from your favorite XLR microphone, or plug into the "audio out" of a live mixer to quickly and easily record live shows.

Balanced XLR audio products are the tools of professionals, and with the advent of mobile gadgetry, linking those tools to an iOS device is attractive. The new ProJive XLR from Cable Jive allows users to connect a powered XLR microphone into the headset jack of an iOS device. From there, users can record the audio using any app that allows it, such as Garage Band or the Voice Memos app. The product also has a line out, which will allow users to monitor audio going into the device, either with headphones or external amp/speakers. The ProJive XLR also works with Macs for podcasting and voice over.

The ProJive XLR is available now for about $29.
