Apple announced it will have a special event on Wednesday September 12, 2012. Occasionally Apple gives a hint within the invite design, and here there is a subtle 5 in the reflection of the date. That of course suggests not only the next iPhone, but likely the next iPhone will be named iPhone 5. We'll have to see if there are other things in store, beyond the headlining device.
The announcement will take place in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am PDT.
